The Spiritual Leader of the Tijjaniya Islamic Movement, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, says he is in full supports of the Federal Government initiative to incorporate western education into the curriculum of Almajiri schools.
He made this known when the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children’s Education, NCAOOSCE, Dr. Muhammad Sani Idris, visited him in Bauchi.
Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi said the Tijjaniya Movement was committed to any course that would enhance the socio-economic development of the country.
The Executive Secretary of NCAOOSCE had earlier told the Sheikh that he was at his residence to seek his blessings as he embarked on the journey towards restructuring almajiri education and taking millions of out-of-school children off the streets.
He emphasised that the integration would afford the almajiri the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills to compete favourably in a continuously globalised world.
Dr. Muhammad Sani Idris also said President Bola Tinubu is worried about the menace of almajiri and out-of-school children and would leave no stone unturned towards bringing it to an end.
